Ingredients:
100g green lentils
2 carrots
300ml water
Method:
Rinse the lentils in cold water.
Chop the carrots into small cubes.
Put both the lentils and carrots in a small pot and cover with the water.
Bring to the boil and then reduce the heat and simmer for about 40 minutes (adding more water if the lentils soak up too much of it before they are cooked).
Once the lentils are fully soft and cook and have absorbed the water, mash everything with a potato masher and leave to cool.
This should make plenty for the freezer too.
You could add anything your baby likes to this mix – mushrooms, courgette, peppers, peas, meat or fish.
Mabel particularly liked to pick these lentils up by hand and feed herself. Slowly, slowly she’s learning.
